Install Mulch Correctly

Have you ever noticed a big mound of mulch around a tree? This is called a mulch volcano and is bad for a tree. Installing mulch this way can end up killing the tree by cutting off the oxygen the roots receive and can also cause disease. No more than 2-3” of mulch should be used and should be kept away from the trunk of the tree.
