Grading is the real basics of any landscape design.

Anyone who has ever sat behind the controls of a dozer or skid-steer will tell you there is an art to landscape grading. Valley View Landscaping has the equipment and experience for installing lawns. Trying to make things look natural, even when nature has put the high and low spots in the wrong places, takes real talent. Grading is a science, there are some basic techniques that need to be followed to ensure the landscape not only looks good but also functions properly.

Leveling a lawn is far more than just clearing and flattening. It is the best way to prevent erosion and drainage issues that can lead to pooling water and foundation problems. We have the experience to identify these problem areas.

After Grading Is Completed

You may be wondering whether you should lay sod or plant grass seed. Valley View landscaping has the experience in both sod and seeding.

When seeding a new lawn Valley View landscaping uses a premium top quality grass seed and fertilizer. First, we will evenly apply seed & fertilizer to your newly graded lawn. Once seeded and fertilized, a thin layer of straw will be installed over the top. This will protect the new seed from washing away and holds in moisture when watering.

When it comes to laying sod Valley View landscaping has the experience and knowledge. However, sod does cost more and requires more watering. The reason is someone else has already taken the time to grow the grass for you. Sod will give the look of an instant lawn, there is no waiting period for the seed to grow.

Watering Your Seeded Lawn or Sod

Most importantly, the crucial part is to water the newly installed lawn. This step is critical for your new lawn or sod to grow. If you skip this step as a result the lawn will die and not grow. Furthermore, you will have wasted your money and time and you will not be happy.
