Seasonal Containers
Seasonal containers are a great way to add curb appeal or highlight a focal point and most importantly each season can be modified. Seasonal containers are a valuable addition to patios, entryways, gardens and decks. Choosing a container
We will work with you to help find the right container for your landscape. With the bitter Winters Wisconsin can bring its best to choose a container that won’t break from the freeze/thaw action. Clay, glazed and porcelain pots are at risk to breaking in the winter. Containers that are going to be left outside should include materials of either plastic, composite, metal and wood pots.
Seasonal Containers
Spring: Pansies are a great choice for spring color (we can also plant bulbs in the fall for spring hyacinths, tulips, daffodils and irises).
Summer: May include annuals & perennials, such as geraniums, daisies, zinnias, and coral bells.
Fall: Garden mums and asters are a great way to add Fall color. We can also add in pumpkins, gourds, and hay bales for a Fall display.
Winter: Birch logs, berries, twigs, evergreens, red dogwood, lights, ribbons, bows, and pinecones can be added.
Watering
Pay close attention to watering. When the weather is hot out its best to water early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The water will soak deep into the soil roots and there will be less water lost to evaporation. Don’t forget even in the Winter plants still need to be watered. Drip irrigation systems are best. You can use a timing system and do not have to worry about watering the rest of the season.
